ALEXIS ROSE STYLE
I was born to a woman who would soon hate me inside and out, due to the destruction of the man who took part in producing me. Following a tragic car accident caused by him, she would learn to only see him in my eyes, louis vuitton femmes, and her hate for him projected all over my face.
As a result, her hate for him was communicated to me through the angst of verbal abuse and destruction. I grew up in a world of anger, abuse, hatred, and trauma. But, I had my Grandmother.
Despite thephysical and verbal abuse that I endured day in and out, whether as a recipient or observant, I used my creativity and awkward being to my advantage for survival. I wouldescape deep within, and express myself through drawing, poetry, imagination, and styling design.
I would dig into my wounds full of scarring words, and try to turn them into something pretty and, meaningful.
I could not control my life and circumstances, so I began rearranging and changing all the things that Icouldcontrol. I learned to take my life into my own hands, and once on my own at 18, there was no stopping me.
As a child who was forced to live in fear, once I began to see the truth in it all, there was nothing for me to be afraid of. As a result, I live my life outside of fear. I make decisions impacting my life with the absence of fear, as it is the one thing I will not allow to control me and my fate.
Living in fear and turmoil was all a part of my journey. It was meant to prepare me for who I am today, and where I going tomorrow. Though tragic, I am not a victim. I will not allow the unfortunate circumstances of my childhood to dictate the opportunities of my future. Because, my childhood was truly not unfortunate at all.
Iwas always fully equipped with the tools I would need for today. Now that I am old enough and in control enough, it is because of the abuse that I am able to fearlessly pursue my dreams. I have become aware of my selfworth, and even though I may need to remind myself here and there the damage is not irreversible, only repairable is necessary to recognize and build for the sake of my dream pursuit.
Considering what I lived through and survived as a child, with limited knowledge and resources is no doubt in my mind that I am capable of handling what the world has in store for me today, tomorrow, and in the future.
Coming from abuse, it is up to you to determine your future.
I had such a blast being the Style Editor for the 414 Day Milwaukee Home show, that took place at The Hotel Foster.
For the first time, I was styling a much more chill, yet chic collection majority male models! It was such a fun challenge and a fresh experience overall.
The models were the three F Fly, Fun, and Fashionforward, and the talent behind the scenes was nothing short but major.
The ladies of Stag Barbershop, hooked up the hair and makeup, while Milwaukee Home Melissa Thornton and Scott Mizzen made sure everything went off without a hitch would not have known that this was their first fashion show!
Everyone had fun and just let loose, which can sometimes be scarce at fashion shows.
The crowd was lively, the fashion was fresh, and the presentation made us all that much more anxious for a Milwaukee summer!
